The Great British Divide now runs every other year with the next edition taking place in August 2026. Please register your interest here to be kept informed of all the latest news as we build up to launching Edition 5 during the Summer of 2025!
Entering it's fifth year in 2026, the Race Check Gold Award Winning Great British Divide is an unsupported MTB bikepacking event from one end of the country to the other.
The Divide is not a race; it is an adventure and reliability test to be completed in a couple of weeks. Travelling from the bottom to nearly the top of Great Britain, at times taking a less obvious route whilst passing through much of the most beautiful, dramatic and testing terrain the country has to offer, including the majority of our National Parks.
The Full Route with a distance of 2000km and 35000m of climbing and the Short(er) Route at 1400km and 27000m are both around 70% off-road and both provide a challenge and experience you will never forget.
Pairs Category that was introduced in 2024 will remain for 2026. Pairs will be required to carry a Tracker each and will be listed as a Pair on our live tracking. Pairs will be able to share equipment. A Pair will be counted as a 'whole' rider - if one half of a Pair scratches, the whole Pair scratches, if one half of a Pair contravenes a rule, the whole Pair contravenes a rule and so on.

In August 2026 the fifth edition will roll out from Canterbury, will you be one of the riders.....?
Travel to the start is best done using the train service with a very good high-speed service connecting London to Canterbury.
